I know you said there’s not much point in uploading my copy. But I worked very hard on it, so I thought, “It does not hurt.” If you have a little bit of free time, please give it a glance. I worked very hard to get right all the details you said in the lectures.
I put in a 5th “detailed icon” – Lightroom. See you Monday!
Looks awesome. I totally get the feeling – you work hard for something, it would be a shame not to show it off. Keep it up!
Compare it to my exact replica (almost) above.
I put my photo and info in, changed geometric shapes at the top, changed the background of the section with the contact info, changed the section that measures skill level in Photoshop etc. to make it for me, changed the background of the footer at the bottom.
I’m quite happy with it except two things:
– the pattern is too busy so the text is hard to see. That text is critical so don’t mess with it.
– the bottom part, a subjective thing, I’d rather you not use a fadeaway. Instead use a 2-4 px horizontal line to separate it.
Thanks! Got it Chris – I registered all the points you made. Yeah, the bottom part – I realized that myself, AFTER I submitted it. In this design a crisp edge looks better than a fadeaway, for some reason.
So I agree with you. But based on your expert knowledge, WHY does the crisp edge look better than the fadeaway? I agree with you, but I can’t think of ‘why it is true.’ I’m very interested in your answer.
It’s a style thing and styles evolve. We used to wear baggy clothes, now we prefer fitted ones. Fadeaways and reflections are a staple of an older style of web design.
Good to know. Thanks.
my original – this version has your improvements
(compare to my original above)
I changed the pattern overlay in the Contact Info area to a new freepik vector image I found. I added a horizontal line in the footer area to make it a crisp line instead of a fade away.
Looks good. I’m still not in love with the fadeaway at the bottom, but the rest is fine. Keep it up!
Got it Chris. Thanks! : ) I agree about the fadeaway (I made that mistake because I’m still a beginner – still learning). It’s okay if I move on now, right?
